Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 150 g each
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • 1 Nonstick skillet
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Food thermometer

Method

  1. Pat the salmon dry and season with black pepper. Mix honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic and water in a small bowl.
  2. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add salmon skin-side down, if it has skin. Cook for 4–5 minutes, then carefully turn.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and pour the glaze around the fish.
  5. Cook for another 3–5 minutes, spooning the sauce over the salmon, until the thickest part reaches 63°C / 145°F.
  6. Transfer to plates and spoon over the glaze. Serve with separately prepared rice and broccoli.

Notes

Demo recipe draft for the site preview. This recipe has not been kitchen-tested; client review is pending.
The timing is for fillets about 2–3 cm thick. Reduce the heat if the honey starts to darken too quickly. Rice and broccoli are serving suggestions, not included in the card's time.
